Just Rambling

Today was a very busy day with temperatures reaching the triple digits, but I found time to take Bryn and Blake to the hotel pool. It was in the early evening and we had the pool all to ourselves. They wanted me to take pictures of them jumping in the pool and then, they wanted me to judge their jumps as if they were Olympians. Their older brother had gone to play baseball and their dad was working out of town. I must admit, it was a pleasure to just sit and enjoy watching the silly antics of my two young ones. There are so many things weighing on my mind but, for those few moments, I didn't think about any pressing issues. The contractor came yesterday and has scheduled a return visit tomorrow. Hopefully, we will have a new estimate by Monday or Tuesday. When we receive that, we will submit it to our insurance and see if they will be agreeable. (Keep praying!) My mind has been bothered because we are to leave June 24 to begin tour with the WAY - Western All-State Youth - Choir. This year they will travel northern California and into Oregon. I'm sure we will have people working in our house by that time and I don't know who we will get to oversee the job while we are away. When we return from WAY tour, we will have only three weeks before we leave to set up for family camp. My husband is in charge of setting up a tent the size of a football field that is used for family camp. It takes a week to set up and then people arrive for a week of Camp Meeting for the whole family. Afterwards, the tent must come down until the next year. I realize I am rambling, so I will shut up after one more thing. A couple weeks ago I had promised to make a post and was delayed due to a rough day with my heart. I now know what happened. I had been to the doctor a few days prior and had moderate edema in my legs. My physician gave me a diuretic but did not give me any potassium. My potassium level dropped dangerously low. Fortunately I had done a complete blood panel and when the physician received the report they called me and instructed me to go directly to the pharmacy and pick up a prescription of potassium and start it immediately. Thank goodness this was caught soon because I know I could have just as easily went into cardiac arrest. I guess I am rambling because I really haven't given any thought to anything important today - that's okay once in awhile and I am glad I just relaxed my mind this day.

  1. Hi Jana, Rambling is just thinking on paper, and sometimes we have our best thoughts when we "think." LOL

  5. Aren't you glad for those moments God gives us where we can take a break from the cares of life and stop and smell the roses? I'm thankful God kept His hand on you with the potassium situation. He does take care of His children. Hope you have a blessed Sunday tomorrow, and Happy Father's Day to Brother Allard(your husband, that is. :-) )

  6. Hi Jana,

Sitting by the pool and watching the kids sounds like fun! Glad you got to do some relaxing before the busy days ahead overtake you. Glad you got the potassium situation under control too. Eat lots of bananas! I have a heart condition (Mitral Valve Prolapse), so I can relate a bit to your situation. You're in my thoughts and prayers for the busy days ahead and for your house repairs. Love, Karen

  7. Carol - yes, those moments are cherished.

Karen - thanks for your prayers. When I have problems with my health, I am always reminded that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. It is amazing how our bodies function and survive.
