Sweet Innocence

The innocence of children and their creativity always amazes me. These precious pics are of some children in our church. They began their infant life at just a few weeks old with a foster mom and the boy is now her adopted son. The little girl is currently being shared between this incredible foster mom and the biological mom. If you could see this foster mom, you would believe these children were her biological children. (The boy and girl are no relation.) If kids do not have toys, they will create something into a toy. Did you ever think of using a Rubbermaid tub for a swimming pool? Or a dump truck for a waterfall? Even though the girl is smaller, she held her own soaking her big "brother." Her glee is obvious as she claps her hands. To see these two in real life, is so sweet because this boy absolutely adores his little "sister." I have told their foster mom that I admire her for being a foster parent. It takes a very special and unselfish person to fulfill the role of foster parent. There are so many precious children who do not have loving homes. These two were fortunate to be placed in a loving environment. Do me a favor - say a prayer for these children and their foster mom. We want the best for them.

  1. I admire foster parents, also. They have a special kind of love. I just found out from an elderly lady in our church that she and her husband have been foster parents to over 70 children! It takes a lot of patience to make that happen. Those pictures are so sweet!

  3. I was thinking as I read this post how there is just something about children that can touch people's hearts. Many times I've seen people that looked down or dejected suddenly light up at the sight of an infant or some little children playing. Maybe that's why God refers to His people so many times as His children. I pray that I would bring him that kind of delight when He looks at my life.

  4. We have some foster parents in our church too and they are truly incredible people. May God bless this lady and her "children" abundantly.

  5. Hi Jana, These are two sweeties. And yes, it does take special people to be foster parents. My nephew and his wife (who have a two-year-old son) just took a fourteen year old boy as a foster child. The boy had been with one woman for most of his life, but she was ill and unable to care for him. The boy had no family, when he went into the hospital recently. When it was time to be released, the social workers asked if he knew anyone who would take him, and he named his youth pastor (my nephew). The paperwork that usually takes weeks was completed in days. Sometimes God just has a plan.
