Another House Update

Finally, we received 1/3 of our insurance monies to help further the progress on the repairs of our house. It has now been four months and a week since the house flooded, and frustrated can't really begin to describe how we are feeling. This past Friday, tile was installed in the two upstairs bathrooms and painting began in the kitchen. Hopefully, we will have some carpet being installed by the end of this week. The pictures above show a portion of the living room. Why don't you pull up a chair and sit on the floor with us. :) Bryn decided to strike a pose and you can also see the plastic sheeting covering things they don't want to get paint over-spray. Thankfully, the light is getting brighter at the end of this dark tunnel.

  1. Sis. Allard your family is in our prayers I can't even imagine what it's been like.God has great things in store for you. You can't go thru valleys like this, stay faithful and not be blessed.Sometimes valleys we go thru are longer than we want but the Mountian tops are worth it. Hold on Sis your blessing are coming down that old dusty road.

  3. Janell - Thanks for dropping by. Although I loved the carpet I had, I have made peace with not having it anymore. Now, I am somewhat anxious to see the "new look."

  4. Jana, I am so sorry for all you've had to endure. We have been without a kitchen for 2 months when we completely remodeled, and I know how hard that was planning meals each day. We did a bathroom remodel years ago and only had one bathroom which only had a tub and no shower. The three of us used that for about a year! That took some adjusting. I can only imagine the hardships you've all faced with delays and funding and waiting. I hope you will all soon be enjoying a beautiful, made-over home. Love & Prayers, Karen

  5. Well, things are looking up after all. I sure hope you are settled back in by Thanksgiving at least. Tell the rest of the family that you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

  6. Karen - sounds like you have "been there, done that!" Doesn't it make you wonder how families got ready for church in the old days when nearly all homes only had one bathroom?! I will be glad to have the extra bathrooms again! LOL It is difficult sharing that space because that is sometimes my escape. LOL

Ronda - I am now counting on having this all together by the end of October so I can have our annual sr. dinner at my house in November. Pray it happens. :)
