To The Fair

We took time from working on the house to take the kids to the county fair. They got to ride an elephant, see pygmy pigs race, the turkey stampede, a Llama, the goats play, three newborn calves, a 13 foot alligator, a 1,000 pound pig, and a little lamb and many sheep. Seeing the animals has always been their favorite part of the fair. Bryn got enough nerve to pet the goats, calf, and elephant. Of course we couldn't resist the cotton candy and carmel corn.

  1. I LOVE Bryn's boots!
Your kids all look great in cowboy hats! A cowboy hat is the only hat that looks good on me. Well, baseball caps are okay, too.
The photo of all three is so good. Worthy of printing and framing, I say. :)
Did they enjoy the smells? :)

  2. Tena - LOL Your mind works so much like mine. I always think about the other senses, too. LOL Fortunately, the fair animals are meticulously cared for and the smell is very minimal.

  4. Love the pictures and the way your kids are dressed. Looks like you all had a lot of fun. I've never been to a fair, and I've lived out here almost 29 years. Gotta do it sometime soon.

  5. Kerrie took Caleb & Shyanne to the fair today. I showed Caleb the pic of Bryn and Blake on the elephant and he said "Ooooo, check out Bryn. She's got guts." I asked him if he was going to ride the elephant and he said "No, I have more important things to do." But he never told me what they were. I know he is afraid of heights so...Go figure. I'm sure he can be found either checking out the live stock or the exhibits.

I do agree with Caleb though, Bryn does have guts. My favorite pic is of all three of your kids together. You do have beautiful children and they have beautiful spirits as well.

  6. Carol - thanks. I agree with you.

Karen - thanks for the compliments. Each year we plan a day to go to the county fair. We always try to go during the week in the afternoon and avoid being there at night. We don't go to the rides because that is where the riff-raff tends to happen. However, my kids love to see all the animals and visit the exhibit halls. Also, there is a children's area that has different scientific things, easels to creat a piece of art, and other things of interest to the children. I hope you can visit a good fair sometime.

Jolene - Caleb is something else. It is so amazing to watch him grow. Bryn really loved the elephant but she was somewhat apprehensive when she was on it.

  7. Sounds like you all had a fun day. We usually go to the state fair. This year our church choir sang and did a great job. I enjoy the animals too, I also enjoy the different county exhibits, they are really done well. The fair is in August though, so the weather is usually hot, hot, hot.
    P.S. I agree with Tena, I love Bryn's boots. :)

Cheryl - I agree with you and Tena - Bryn's boots are too cute. Thanks to E-Bay, she has them in blue and beige.

Janell - Hmmmmm, there were two boys in cowboy hats. Which one caught your eye? (smile)
