A portion of scripture from family devotion was, "We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love." - I Corinthians 13:12-13 (The Message)
STRAIGHT TALK: "Why?" "I don't understand!" "This doesn't make sense!" These are probably some thoughts you, too, have recently had. I have to admit I have more questions than answers. My only hope is in my faith. For those who question having faith, this is my answer. Archaeologists have found enough things to support the validity of the Bible. i.e. Noah's Ark (on Mt. Ararat), Dead Sea Scrolls, remains from Masada, and more. Therefore, if the Bible is true, then my only hope is in God. I must live according to His plan, walk by faith, trust in Him, and more than anything else love. That is, love extravagantly.
Hang in there, friends, for surely better days are ahead. If not, and this is the beginning of the end, then heaven is the next destination. Either way, it is a win. As my son's quartet sings, "All's well that ends well."
