Thought of the Day

The world is moved not only by the mighty shoves of the heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.- Helen Keller

When you feel your work is too small to be effective, remember our cumulative effort moves the world. Little becomes much when God is in it. Give love, speak peace, and let the world see Jesus in you. Have a blessed, effective day.

  1. Lovely thought, Jana. And it is true. Too often we feel overcome because we forget we are a part of a communal effort. Each liittle bit does help - each small act of kindness and love is an essential part of making the world more nearly what God intends it to be.

  3. Helen - I have tendency to run from negative people because I can't stand their persistent whines. From my experience, it matters not how much you try to change them, they are set in their misery. Yet, they need to realize this thought more than most. Just think if we could convert all the whiners to workers? WOW!

  5. Great thought, this reminds me of a sermon that I heard where the preacher said "We might be the closes thing to Jesus they will ever know.

  6. Anonymous - thanks for dropping by. I'm sure that was a great sermon. We really are the only Jesus some will ever see.

  7. Amen! Jesus often took time out in his ministry for just one person(like the woman at the well), and to that woman, it made all the difference in the world.

  8. Carol - not only do we need to speak for Jesus, but we also need to speak out against evil. The world is getting so dark and we must increase our wattage to break through the darkness. Thanks for your comment.
