What a weekend! WAY Quartet arrived Friday for their final practice before their recording. They rehearsed 12 hours Friday and 14 hours Saturday. These guys are really committed to their project! WAY Choir director, Ken Fitzpatrick, spent these long hours with the boys helping fine tune their parts. This morning, the quartet gave an hour long concert for our morning service and it was fabulous. They sang some of their original songs with only the grand piano for accompaniment and it was so beautiful. Simply put, it was so great that I now believe when the orchestrations are added, it will be an over-the-top project. About 10:30 Saturday night, they felt the presence of God strongly in their rehearsal. Right then and there, they all four stopped and wrote new verses for "Jesus Loves Me." Each one is heart-felt and it will become the bonus track on their CD.
P.S. The pictures were taken a few weeks ago. Even famous people relax and act silly sometimes. LOL Chloe Watts, WAY Quartet, and Karen Harding all sang for a service. The quartet sang back-up for Karen on her song "Graceland." It was a highlight moment for the boys.
LOL Looks like fun! Looking forward to the boys new project.

Sounds like it's going to be a great project. Karen Harding is a nut! I love her.
ReplyDeleteThey sound truly committed. Helen
ReplyDeleteRonda - it is fun. These guys can be real goobers, too.
ReplyDeleteKarla - We love having Karen come around. She is great.
Helen - I can't remember if I ever e-mailed you an audio clip of the the boys singing "Oh, What A Savior." Let me know. They are great kids and are so excited about this project.
Sounds like you all had a wonderful time. I like Karen Harding. We saw her in concert with Bill Gaither and his Homecoming Group about 3 years ago in Sacramento. She really shined.
ReplyDeleteWe had Timothy Spell at our evening service the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I had never heard him sing before. He's pretty talented, and can preach too!
I like to see Apostolics ham it up. We ought to be the happiest people on earth!
ReplyDeleteKaren - we had Karen Harding a couple weeks ago, and she was so anointed. Bryce had a friend from college come and she was writing in a journal during the service. Blake was sitting by her and saw the girl write, "I'm so discouraged." At the very moment, Karen Harding stopped singing and said, "I don't know why you are so discouraged. God will take care of you." It is so wonderful when people are used by God. Not only did this speak to Bryce's friend, but it also gave 10 year old Blake a "wow" moment seeing how God works. As for Tim Spell, he does a great job singing and even better preaching. I love to hear him preach.
ReplyDeleteCarol - AMEN!!! I just can't stand to see people who claim to be Apostolics and always have a sour expression. There is a quote I have often used - "Pain is inevitable; misery is optional."
ReplyDeleteWell folks, All I've got to say is that since I attend the church where Bryce Allard goes to church, :D, I have been blessed to hear these fine young men sing a few times now. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteBuying their CD is definitly a must for me. They are Holy Ghost Annoited talented singing young men and a joy to listen to. I can hardly wait to get my hands on their CD. It will be a great addition to my music collection that's for sure.
I love hearing these guys sing! Not only do they sound good individually, but more importantly, they have a great blend!! I'm excited for them! =)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, that was pretty interesting what you said about the girl from Bryce's school and Karen Harding. God is so neat, isn't he?
omw! sis allard! i miss u n ur family so much! kara n i were talkin about how much we miss the WAY choir today! :( we cant wait to meet up with evry1 again! luv ya lots! ~kait~ :)
ReplyDeleteJolene - thanks for your incredible support to Bryce and the quartet. You will never know how much I appreciate your love to the pastor's kids.
ReplyDeleteJanell - I think the project will turn out really nice. They are going to have several original songs that are fabulous. The incident with Karen Harding was so cool. Many times things like that happen in services and you know God is directing things. This time, I felt especially grateful that Blake got to witness the power of God. It definitely made an impression in his young mind.
Kait - It was nice to hear from you. WAY Choir is so much fun. Will you be on tour summer 2008?
