That's Practically All I Have To Say

Last week-end, Blake (my 10-year old) was invited to speak at a KIDZ rally. The theme was Jesus, The Light of The World. This rally featured young children singing, doing dramatic sign language, instruments solos, and speaking. Blake was one of two speakers and I thought it was cute enough to share. We all got a huge kick out of his last line.

  1. Blake, you do me proud. I may not be able to say that's my nephew or that's my grandson but I can sure say "That's my pastor's son! I go to church with that kid." :-D
Hey, we redheads have to stick together, right?

I have heard you preach twice now and both times you were annointed. Stay true to God Blake. He has a mighty work for you to do.

And people are worried about the church of tomorrow???? NOT ME!

  6. Thank you, all, for your compliments. I am so proud of Blake. He is my very extreme child. To the max sweet or to the max ornery. He's quite a card, but I love him so much.

  7. Hi Jana,

I was really impressed with Blake's little sermon. He did a splendid job and he spoke with conviction. I'm sure God has great plans for his future. What a joy it is to see our children used by God! Thanks for sharing.

  9. Jana, Blake is just awesome! I loved it when he said, "the more people to get the Holy Ghost, the brighter the world will become." That was a great line. And, yes I did like his ending too.

  11. Carol - thank you. He does speak with conviction and commands attention.

Rochelle - thanks for dropping by and commenting. Blake has been prophesied over and I do believe God has His hand on him.

Ronda - that was a great line. It is so true! If we want the world to be brighter with God's spirit, it is up to us to let His light/spirit shine through us.

Helen - Blake is quite a character. I think he would love to know you because you would be willing to have conversations with him. Ever since he was a toddler, his favorite thing is talking. In fact, when he was just 2 years old, he was staying at grandma's house and she asked him what he wanted to do. His response was, "Let's talk." When she questioned him what he wanted to talk about, he replied, "Aminals." (Animals - I was typing it like he said it.) He loves to learn and enjoys thought provoking conversations. He never seems to be nervous when on stage.

  18. HAHAHAHA! That was a crack-up! Blake is hilarious! Wow, he's so eloquent for a kid! I loved where he goes, "And now this is where it starts to get sorta interesting"...his segues were so funny! He could grow up to be a mighty preacher someday!

  19. Janell - I am glad you got a kick out of Blake. Bryce and I were nearly rolling in the floor. Blake never ceases to amaze us! I liked the line, "...sorta intrestin'," too. We knew he had notes, but he didn't know they were going to pass out those little lights. When he pulled out that light and said it represented God, Bryce and I laughed til we had tears. Chances are, Blake will end up being a preacher. He has been prophesied over several times that he would be used mightily of God. I think we are headed that way. :)

  21. Jana,

That is adorable. No wonder you are so proud of him! The kids and I were talking about this same subject and discussing the exact same verses earlier today before I heard Blake's little sermon.

    Good message, Blake!

    Keep preaching!

  23. That was one of the cutest things I have seen in a long time. Of course, I guess I've always been a little "partial" to Blake, Huh? He speaks well above his 10 years of age!!!! - Pat
