THE RAIN FELL! THANK YOU, LORD!

The rain fell. Thank you, Lord.

The Associated Press did, in fact, report rain and gave Governor Perdue's modest response. We know that God answered prayer and are continuing to pray for more rain in Georgia.

ATLANTA (AP) - A storm crashed through the Southeast and brought up to an inch of rain in parts of drought-stricken Georgia, but forecasters said the storm likely did little to ease the state's historic drought. The rain late Wednesday and early Thursday brought some precipitation to the parched hills of northern Georgia. The showers began a day after Gov. Sonny Perdue led a prayer service on the steps of the state Capitol to beg the heavens to end the drought."Certainly, we're not gloating about it," Perdue said from a trade mission in Canada. "We're thankful for the rain and hopefully it's the beginning of more. ... Frankly, it's great affirmation of what we asked for."

That is so awesome!!! I wonder if we'll hear about it on the news - like we've heard so much about how silly it was for the governor to say he was going to pray for rain.

  2. Karla- Something messed up on my original post when I went to add the news release. I cut and pasted your comment to this post. Yes, I am surprised that they actually told the truth in the news. May God be glorified.

  3. Hey, it was good to hear from you. By the way... yes we are neighbors to Georgia and are experiencing a huge drought in Alabama as well. From last year when we moved here you could see a few feet of the bank on our lakes. Now, as you look you see about 20 feet of bank. The entire Cullman community is going out to pray for rain this Saturday at the park. Our pastor told us at our Tuesday night service to be praying about it everyday... do you know what we've been having since that service? Yes, Rain! God is faithful!

  7. Janell - Funny you said that about the rain dance. My friend Helen said the same thing. We decided that since Brian is Cherokee Indian and also a preacher, he could pray and dance at the same time. LOL

  9. Hi Jana, Thanks for continuing to visit my blog (even when I didn't make it here to comment). Kind of been distracted. Prayer always works. Glad it got some positive press. Love, Helen

  11. It's encouraging to read that the governor took this stand, but even more encouraging that God answered prayer. Rain on Lord!

  12. Love this. I was astonished that so many people were upset when he first prayed for rain. Wonderful news.

  13. Carol and Shirley - Finally, a positive news release for Christians. When the world wants to do away with prayer, God steps in and shows there is power in prayer.
