Making Memories

It was about 11 years ago when we first met our friends Nathan and Charla while sharing a conference banquet table. We just clicked or, as some would say, we hit-it-off immediately. Brian and I are more than a decade older than our friends, but that hasn't made any difference to our relationship. Throughout the past years, we have laughed, cried, and survived together. Nathan is a cancer survivor, Charla nearly died when she had the baby, the baby was in NICU for a couple weeks, and they prayed when I had an angiogram/heart problem and, cheered Brian when he broke his arm/surgery. In spite of all the drama, our times spent together have been some of the best times of our lives. We laugh till we cry, love fine meals, and keep each others secrets. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! LOL True partners in crime are we! They have watched our kids grow and been great influences in their lives. Blake loved Charla from the first moment he saw her. At two years old, he let everyone know Charla was his girlfriend. Now, as you can see in the above picture, Blake is nearly as tall as Charla and she is still his girlfriend. Blake is also smitten with the new baby. Suffice it to say, we had a wonderful weekend making more memories.

  1. Your snap of Blake and baby bonding definitely creates a wonderful memory. Jana, you have such talent to go pass the norm of picture-taking, and capture the personalities of your subjects. It is so much fun to visit your blog and join in your memories.

  2. Karen - I do have alot of fun snapping pics of the kids. The one of Blake and the baby just took my breath away. It is priceless. Blake has a very caring, compassionate spirit and that pic caught it.

  4. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I'm sorry we didn't know about you being in Charlotte until it was too late to make plans to come. Next time we'll make it work. Love, Helen

  5. Debbie - you know how much I love to take pictures. I love those "caught" moments.

Helen - we would have loved to meet up with you. There was discussion about Bryce and I returning to Charlotte next year for a candlelight Christmas concert. I will be sure to let you know if that happens.
