I Applaud Shirley

Today, I applaud Shirley. (Pictured above in her son's plane.) A woman of great faith, she has remained strong in the darkest of hours and given her life to the work of God. Like Helen, Shirley isn't afraid to tackle controversial issues which often result in heated debates. (I might add, I agree at times and disagree at times with both of these ladies. LOL) Whether traveling cross country for a speaking engagement, writing another book, or playing with grandkids in the kitchen, Shirley always seems to find pleasure in the simple and small things of life. Nothing goes unnoticed. Shirley, I love you and your family. Can you hear my loud applause?

  1. I love Shirley, too. But I sometimes I drive her nuts. If it weren't for Shirley, I wouldn't know Jana or Carol and several other bloggers I am glad to know. Shirley and I started blogging about the same time. We agree that we are "nice." I hope I make Shirley think; Shirley does that for me. Helen

  2. Helen - you and Shirley have given me many good laughs. You are two peas in a pod but readily sit at opposite ends. You both make me think - sometimes. :)

  4. I love (Shirley)Sister Buxton too. She has been and continues to be a wonderful influence in my life and was the reason I started blogging. I think it's neat the way she draws people in through writing about current events, and I'm thankful for the things I've gleaned from her wisdom.

  5. Helen - it would be fun to have you and Shirley debate in a public forum. We would have a time. LOL

Carol - she seems like family to me. When I was a little girl, I used to play with Mike and Steve at conferences. They were the orneriest guys ever, but we never had a dull moment.

  8. I applaud Shirley Buxton! She is a wonderful lady and stands strong in her faith. She sure has made me put my thinking cap on - on more than one occasion. She has been a blessing to me during some dark days in my life and sent me encouraging words and lifted me up and boosted my faith when I needed it most.

    Love you Sis Buxton!

I remember when I first started blogging I was the only Apostolic/Pentecostal preacher that I knew of that was blogging and a few months later the first A/P blog that I heard about was Sis. Buxton's and quickly became a regular reader. She writes great post on her two blogs and often bring interesting news tidbits up as well.

  14. I had the privilege of meeting her when my husband preached one of the installation services for Marc Stevenson in California. I was impressed with her kindness towards someone she didn't know. I have enjoyed getting to know her better through her blogs.
