A Wedding Week-end

Bride Anna & Maid-of-Honor Jessica This cake was set on a glass top end table. Quite interesting.
A very different table set-up with a tree through the center.
The show included a fashion show. I loved the hanging "chandeliers."
I took some close pictures so I could figure out how to make it.

Saturday, we drove to San Diego for the wedding of Anna. We drove back that night and Sunday afternoon I went to a bridal show. Before you start questioning, let me answer. No, Bryce is not getting married. He was modeling tuxedos for this event. Often, I am involved in decorating for various events and bridal shows are an excellent place to get ideas. I decided to share a few pics with you.

  1. I like the way they decorated the chandeliers. Pretty neat idea.

  2. Carol - the chandeliers appeared to be a white, plywood donut with small (4 watt) bulbs in the middle of the width of the circle. The "hole" in the donut had different lengths of a clear, strand of beads that the lights caused to sparkle. The edge of the "donut" had a fringe of clear beads. The top was covered with flowers and there were four chains that that met at the top with one big ring that the whole thing was hung by. The electrical cords were woven up the chain and plugged somewhere in the ceiling. It was very creative and quite pretty. I am thinking of trying it on a smaller scale for some of our events.

  3. The chandeliers have that special look. Thanks for how they are made. Look forward to seeing yours if and when you do them.

  4. Karen - Since this one includes electricity, I will have to solicit Brian's help. LOL I'm going to keep my eyes peeled to find the clear, fancy trim and garland to begin working on one of these chandeliers. I want to make a smaller one. The ones in the pic were probably about 5 - 6 feet in diameter. I think I will try to work on one that is about 3 feet diameter.

  6. Anonymous - I agree. The chandeliers are pretty. Jessica is cousin to Keith, tenor of freeWAY. During the past few years, she has become a close friend to our family, particularly to Bryce.

My friend Delaina had those chandeliers in her wedding. They are at Details Party Rentals in Bakersfield if you want to inspect them more thoroughly ;)

  8. Hadassah - What a pleasant surprise to hear from you! The fashion show did state where the chandeliers were from and I took several pictures where I zoomed in and got the detail. I think I could duplicate them. I heard Delaina's reception was over-the-top.

  10. Janell - it was my first time to attend a bridal show of this nature. It was a huge crowd of people, tons of vendors, and the fashion show was great. I got several good decorating ideas while there.

Carissa - Do I hear someone who is really tired of being the bridesmaid and not the bride? LOL
