Again this year, I let Bryn and Blake order Valentine cards from Costco and they chose what pictures they wanted on their cards. (I took snapshots of the cards and they aren't very clear.) I want to give a shout out to fellow blogger Mervi for taking the picture of Bryn's face with her hair in her eyes. He snapped this picture while we were at camp this summer and that is the picture Bryn chose as the large picture on her card. I snapped the other two of Bryn at her birthday party. Blake chose a picture from photographer Kim Lancaster who also photographed freeWAY and myself for our respective CD's. The other two pictures of Blake were snaps I took of him. The last picture is of a jumbo cookie. The kids received, by special delivery, large, heart cookies from their Grandma and Grandpa Allard. It has become a tradition for grandma and grandpa's church to make these large, decorated, heart cookies as a fundraiser each year. Each one is personalized. The best part is they taste good, too. :)

Cute cards & cookie! Happy Valentine's Day to the Allard house.
ReplyDeleteHi Jana,
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day to you and your family. :-)
I'm glad to see you are able to keep some things "normal," Jana. Bryn and Blake made lovely cards. Prayers continue for Bryce. Hope the grandparents don't think he's too "big" for a cookie, because you can't outgrow cookies. LOL
ReplyDeleteTracie - Hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day. From what I have read about your husband, I'm sure he will spoil you good. LOL
ReplyDeleteCarol - It is nice to hear from you. Hope you are all doing well. You have a wonderful Valentine's.
Helen - In spite of injured patients, school does not stop and life continues to spin. It's a good thing I was able to order the cards online Wednesday night. I picked them up on Thursday so the kids could have them for their class parties Friday. Plus, Bryn had volunteered to bring grapes so we bought grapes and made 20 small bags for her classmates.
And yes, Bryce got a cookie, too. His said, "To our singer Bryce." Funny thing was, Brian had told his mom and dad the kids wouldn't share their cookies and that I liked them. They made me one this year and had written on it, "Enjoy and don't share." We all got a good laugh out of that one.
The doctor's office said we should get the referral for the CT scan on Monday. In the meantime, Bryce has been praying and he trusts God will take care of him. He has been unusually quiet and I know that means he is in pain. He tries to act normally but he finally asked his dad for some pain medicine tonight. I wish you could meet him. He is a sweet, gentle spirit, very respectful and just an all around good kid. You know as his mommy it is difficult to realize he is hurting and I can't help it. With all our combined prayers, I believe God will bring us through this trial and I will be forever grateful for your concern and prayers.
Great idea for Valentine cards - really makes it personal. The large cookie idea is great too. Continue to pray for you all. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteBrya:
