Carpet and tile have been selected, the fallen ceilings are now restored and textured, the bathroom floors are scheduled to be repaired this week, and the painter will be here by the end of the week. Hip-hip-hooray! There really is a light beginning to shine at the end of this tunnel. After nearly four months, we will almost be sad to leave the Holiday Inn with their kind staff, tasty cinnamon rolls, and fresh cookies each evening. Even so, I can hardly wait to sleep in my bed again. Light a candle, cross your fingers, say a prayer............we need the mortgage company to release the funds to the contractor so we can hurry this work along.
P.S. I would show you some "improved" pictures, but I cannot find the battery charger for my camera. I have a feeling it fell into a box that was being packed and put away.

ReplyDeleteWhen you actually get into your own home again and into your own bed it will be like heaven. Hey, I have an idea, ;} lock the doors, diconnect all phones and door bells and soak it all in for a few days. Sound good? Then do it! After all, you deserve it. :)

ReplyDeleteHelen - I would love to have you for dinner. I'm not sure what it would be, because each kid has been asking for their favorite meals. It will just be nice to cook. Maybe we will have our favorite African dish of couscous with chicken and veggies.
