There are many ways to measure success;
not the least of which is the way
your child describes you when talking to a friend.
Many years ago, an elder minister would often say, "If you want to know what your congregation thinks about you, just talk to their kids." Young children radiate innocence and honesty. This can provoke us, as adults, to a time of searching our souls. Thank God for our children and reminding us of what we should yet become if we are to find true success.
When my boy’s were little people always said how well behaved they were my comment was, Thank you, I will wait until they have children and see how my grand-children are raised. This has shown to me how will I TRIED to bring up my sons.
ReplyDeleteSuccess is not measured in what you hold. But in what you see through the lives of your posterity.
Just my thought!
Wow, that is really true! When I was about 2 years old I went up to a lady in our church who did not have the Holy Ghost, and I said "Lady, go pray!" She went to the altar and got the Holy Ghost! lol
ReplyDeleteMervi - By the time I have grandchildren, I will probably be ancient. LOL You have a great family and deserve to be proud.
ReplyDeleteJen - I love the story!!! You were a soul winner at an early age. HA! Keep making your parents proud.
