Color Is Beautiful
My friend Helen inspired me to post this. (Click on Helen's blog at right and read White Into Black. You might even want to read the comments.) I received this picture in an e-mail and thought you would enjoy it too. Just in case you can't read the quote on the picture it says, "Choose your friends by their character and your socks by their color. Choosing your socks by their character makes no sense and choosing your friends by their color is unthinkable." The second picture is my little girl Bryn with my other "daughter" Mieshia. That snapshot was taken at Mieshia's wedding just before she left for her honeymoon to Spain. God's world is full of color and was created for our pleasure. I just can't understand people who hate the rainbow. People are exited over the new HDTV, but God had hi-definition a long time ago. Color is beautiful.

Color is Beautiful! Amen to that. I would not trade my beautiful adopted daughter for anything.Gwen
ReplyDeleteHi, Gwen - Thanks for your comment. When I first saw that picture, it made me think of a blonde Bryn and Awna.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your love and support, all because of Calvary. Helen
ReplyDeleteSo true, Jana! My husband spoke on this Wednesday night. I love COLOR!
ReplyDeleteHelen - there is a song that says, "Thanks to Calvary, I'm not the man I used to be..."
ReplyDeleteLinda - I saw your blog about the little girl that was baptized and I immediately thought, your church is a lot like ours. You obviously have color. Unfortunately, your area probably "sees" it more than ours. I'm glad your husband is bold enough to speak about it.
ReplyDeleteRed and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus displayed His love on Calvary by giving His life for all of humanity, which includes every color. What an example He has set for us!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Carol, as Christians we should love everybody. What I don't understand is prejudice regardless of religion. Really being a Christian should not be the reason we love everybody. It is true that God was the perfect example of love and I am so thankful for Him and His love. I just have a difficult time with prejudiced people. Treating people with equality shouldn't require religion.
ReplyDeleteI believe it! Some of the my best friends have been of a different race, I have a black sister and family (that my mom informally adopted), we have a multi-cultural church and I wouldn't want it any other way. God made us all just as we are and I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. Thank you Jana for showing us again how beautiful color is.

Amen Sis. Jana!!! Color is nothing when you think that we ALL are descendents of Adam thru Noah!!! Jesus didn't specify what COLOR or RACE He was giving His life for on Calvary!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, visit my blog....I actually spent time today and added SEVERAL new thoughts!!! LOL
Gene - thanks for your comment. It is nice to know you have a multi-cultural church. There are so many churches who segregate their churches with the excuse of "ethnic" ministries. We don't have ethnic ministries at our church. The only separation is if there is a language barrier. We do have a Spanish church for people who do not speak English. However, they are not exclusively Hispanic.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ronda.
ReplyDeleteJana, I will drop by your blog soon. Thanks for your comment.
Beautiful post, Jana. Color is beautiful indeed. After all, Jesus said I love you written in red. One of my best friends is a woman of color. Thank you for sharing this thought with us.
ReplyDeletekaren : )
Thanks for dropping by, Karen. We have so many friends that are a different race than us, but we never notice it.
