Have I told you I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME?!?!? Yesterday was a beautiful day at our church as we celebrated the birth of Christ. Let me tell you about it and share a few photos.
The morning service featured the children. We had representation from every class and age group. There were poems read, songs sung, the kids choir sang several songs, an instrumental performance on the piano by a young girl, and then a story. The stage was set up with a small couch & chair, flowers, lights, etc. Blake and Bryn were on the couch and they asked their dad some questions about Christmas. He responded by reading the Christmas story. It ended with prayer and everyone received a Christmas sack. It was a beautiful service.
A candlight Christmas concert was the feature for the evening service. I think we had nearly 100 candles lit. They covered the top of the piano, sound speakers, and other pieces of furniture. It was beautiful! There were numerous solos, two piano instrumentals, a trumpet instrumental, a sing-a-long, The grand finale was visiting with friends while we were served hot chocolate and cookies. Did I mention that I LOVE Christmas???

  1. Looks like yall had a blast!
I love these family christmas services.
Brian looked cool in his bow tie

    Merry Christmas

  2. God bless you and your loved ones in this wonderful time, Christmas time.

  3. That sounds like so much fun. I remember we did something like that when we lived in Sacramento... (sshhhhh but we served popcorn in church). I remember Sis.Wilson was sick and couldn't be there and so we put her on the speaker phone so she could hear the service. She did not know there was going to be popcorn and somehow it slipped out because Bro.Wilson and Sis.Sheila Young were actually the instigaters of it all. It was hilarious ... and turned out to be quite a mess after we passed out bags to everyone who was in church that CHristmas service. We'll never forget it. I'm glad you had a sweet service. People never forget those special times. I love Christmas too. Hope you're having a great one. Love you all.

  4. That sounds so neat! Thanks for sharing the details. Have a Merry Christmas.

  8. Myles - if this is Myles as in "Young," you need to get your Christmas in California song to Disney California. I could see that happenin' in their Christmas parades or bands. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Michael - I hope you have a blessed Christmas and get everything you wish for!

VDL - I can only imagine popcorn in the church! LOL That had to be a riot!! Our bags are given as the people exit the building. LOL I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!!!

Carol - I think Christmas services are some of my favorites. We actually celebrate Christmas every service during the month of December. There is usually at least one Christmas song in each service. It is just beautiful. Merry Christmas to you and your family, too.
