Work And Do Your Best

Being forced to work, and forced to do your best, will breed in you temperance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, cheerfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle never know.
- Charles Kingsley
Remember, an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

  1. "Being forced to work, and forced to do your best"...hmmm...this may be true, but I sure don't like that word "forced." =D

  2. Amen to the quote BUT a double Amen to your comment.

  3. Janell - there is a choice. You can choose to be idle and lazy, or you can force yourself to get up, go, and do. Borrowing a phrase (from I don't know where), "May the force be with you."

Karen - and haven't we seen many idle people through the years that never did anything but complain, gripe and cause trouble. My husband has encouraged them to find jobs, work, but that type lives to be lazy.

  4. =D Star Wars! That's too funny... I've always loved that phrase. Even though I never have seen Star Wars, it was a big deal when I was a kid. We always held up a "V" sign with our fingers and in a deep Darth Vader voice, "May the force be with you!" I still joke with my mom, whenever she has to face Christmas shopping madness or something.
That makes more sense now though, forcing yourself to do your best.
