Landmarks - Part II

I just couldn't resist adding a couple more pictures of the old landmark. Bryn is standing barefoot on the porch of the old store. This photo was taken in the summer months and give another perspective of the place with lush greenery. The other photo is my great-grandfather's house in which my mother was born in 1925.

  2. Jana, reading your post today made me think of Jonathan and Brenda and where they live. Before Daddy passed away he took Jonathan to a place down the street from their house. They stopped at a corner and walked onto the property where an "old foundation" was. Then Daddy told Jonathan that this is where he went to school when he was a little boy!! WOW! Jonathan could not believe he was living so close to his "roots". Being able to hear the stories of parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, is part of lifes deepest and sweetest rewards! Your pictures of the kids and the "old homeplace" and "store" are very special. Thank you!

  3. I love this post and the pictures of your family's heritage. They are bsolutely priceless, and while your children may not fully appreciate them now, at a later time in their lives, they are sure to.

    Blessings,

  4. Thank you, my dear friends, for your comments. This blog was fun as I recalled many stories my grandmother told me of the "old days."
