Attack or Revelation

In light of recent political happenings, I began to think about some of the controversies we have heard through the media. Sometimes news releases are viewed as an attack but, after some thought, I would ask, "Is it an attack or a revelation?" When someone runs for a political office, it is fair to learn as much as possible about their personality, character traits, convictions, and associates to allow the public to determine if the candidate is worthy of a supporting vote. Negative knowledge is often released by an opponent as an attack but this happens with any campaign regardless of party. I will not be so loyal to a party that I cannot objectively make a decision as to what candidate I feel is best. Reveal to me as much as possible for each candidate, and then I will make my decision. What may seem to an attack can often be a revelation. Scripture has told us what is done in secret will be shouted from the house tops. It also says your sin will find you out. If you don't want it revealed, don't do it.

  1. Those last two lines say it all. Sin does indeed find us out, no matter how cleverly we may try to hide it. I believe God in His mercy reveals it, so we will have a chance to repent, but not every one will take advantage of that opportunity.

  2. Carol - You are right that not everyone will take advantage of repentance, but their revealed sin warns us to be careful.

  3. You are right and the "broadcasting" has often helped more than one way. In recent polictial "broadcasting" a particular local candidate was sharing information on an opposing candidate that wasn't even true. The untruths were documented proofs otherwise. This, type was good also it revealed the character of the one that was "broadcasting" inaccurate information. This was very important for us to know about that particular candidate's character!

  4. I applaud the media for having the courage to present us with information on the candidates; that is, if it is backed by proof. Our country is in the mess it is today because we were told only what the "powers-that-be" wanted us to hear and never given the opportunity to hear about the candidates' total package (or weights). I want to use my God-given right to make decisions based on every fact that I can get.

  5. Tracie - it is important that the truth be revealed.

Karen - being part of the media does take courage or stupidity. LOL The bottom line, is the people need to know the facts.
